Architecting a headless luxury commerce system with custom 3D webGL product models. The visual experience needed to be breathtaking, but initial bundles bloated mobile loading speeds down to 4.2 seconds.
Our Engineering Solution
We coupled headless Shopify Storefront APIs to Next.js static edge pre-routers. We refactored the 3D meshes, compressing textures and applying lazy loading strategies that only compile three.js scripts when users actively hover over product cards.
